Realms of dream and imagination
Estraguil
Most of my fantasy fiction is set in and around a forest - Estraguil. It's a wild landscape, full of hills, mountains, rocky gorges, winding rivers and strange creatures. The forest dwellers are strange beings - mostly humanoid but with all kinds of quirks. One may have hooves, another a forked tongue. Some are furred, some feathered. A few are shapeshifters or have other magic. There are powers in the forest - ancient Tree Powers, Elementals and other beings. It's a setting I've built up over a number of books, and which I intend to revisit. 'Tara's Honour' is currently availble from Whiskey Creek Press and you can read an excerpt here. Other Estraguil novels - 'Illyan Daughter', 'Strange Fruit' and 'The Girl who Fell' will also be available from Whiskey Creek Press in the future.
On borrowed wings
My one non-Estraguil fantasy novel, influenced by Celtic and Viking cultures, it has a romance in it, and a rescue story as slave girl Cariad tries to escape from the unhappy household she is trapped in. With a courageous hero and several villains, intrigues and desperate bids for freedom, there's plenty to get your teeth into.
Dark fantasy
Of late, I've been exploring stories that have both 'real world' and fantasy elements. Wandering the edges of madness, dabbling in paganism, dark magic, dangerous vision and wild possibility. 'The White Hare's Lament' and 'Hunting the Egret' are available from Loveyoudivine.
Worlds of Fantasy
My favourite fantasy egroup - Worlds of Fantasy. I've met some great authors here.
