A meandering path full of inspiration
One evening at folk club, a regular said 'sing us one of your Druid songs' and shortly afterwards, I met my first Druid. It all started there. I joined a Grove, went to rituals at Stonehenge and Avebury, drawn by a feeling of rightness, and a lot of curiosity. After a while I began to feel that maybe this was who I had been all along. I just hadn't known the word for it. I've been a Pagan for years, and fascinated by philosophy. My passion for music and writing draws me to the Bard path. My love for the traditions and landscape of my native land makes Druidry and incredibly resonant spirituality for me. Quite simply, it feels like home, and turns my life into a coherent whole rather than a selection of random bits and pieces.
Bards of the lost forest
Bards of the Lost Forest is a loosely affiliated Druid Group, requiring no significant commitment. Those of us who have dedicated ourselves to the idea undertake open rituals, put on workshops, try to support others on the same path. We celebrate the forests of old, and the woodland still remaining. For more details, visit us here.
The druid network
I became a volunteer for The Druid Network in 2007. I look after the directory - a listing of all kinds of Druid groups from around the world. I also handle the celebrants listing. In 2008 I joined the trustees, part of my growing dedication to Druidry, the druid community and The Druid Network. I feel a strong calling to try and serve as best I can. I am also part of The Order of the Yew, an order within the Druid Network, which gives a spiritual focus to much of the work I do.
Studying druidry
I have been formally studying Druidry with The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids for some years now, and am currently working on the Druid Grade. I've found this course tremendously useful and very rewarding. I love being a student, so when I have completed my work with OBOD, I hope to move on and study with other groups, to widen my understanding of Druidry.
The Pagan and The Pen
Snippets of observations and philosophy turn up occasionally at The Pagan and the Pen.
