Tales of weirdness and wonder
I met Tom through Whiskey Creek Press and we hit it off immediately. He introduced me to Copper Age and the strange island that is Hopeless, off the coast of Maine. I was blown away by his ideas and artwork. A few years later I agreed to take on writing the story line for his setting and characters. It's been a fantastic experience. I've been into graphic novels ever since Neil Gaimon's Sandman stuff, but never dreamed I'd end up writing anything of this ilk. We're looking for a suitable home for 'Hopeless'- watch this space.
Artist Tom Brown is a man of remarkable skill. We've also worked together for Under the Moon's 'Forbidden Love' journal - he illustrated my short story 'Keith's Punishment.' Tom also supplied some of the artwork on this site. He's a diverse, imaginative artist, I love his work and feel honoured to be collaborating with him.
Hopeless
Just to introduce our setting, the island of Hopeless, off the coast of Maine has been isolated for a long time. Surrounded by fog, overrun with nightmarish creatures, (from small things with tentacles to demons and vampires) it's a peculiar place. Here, almost anything can happen, from the weird and unsettling to the darkly funny. With a cast of freaks, weirdoes and the odd power crazed psychopath, life in Hopeless is seldom dull. For regular news about life in Hopeless, pick up your weekly copy of The Hopeless Vendetta here. And for news about other Copper Age activity, keep an eye on this blog.
